Pay: $24.00/Hr. Weekly pay periods on Fridays

Position: Full Time, Temp-to-hire opportunity

Job Summary:

The Transportation Logistics Planner plans, coordinates and analyzes all functions related to the distribution and transportation of products throughout the organization. This position is responsible for defining and implementing transportation strategies and plans that result in the profitable and effective utilization of equipment and personnel consistent with the needs of the customer, and requirements for safety and compliance with DOT standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Track and control the locations and availability of all trucks and trailers
  • Schedule all deliveries and empty container pick-ups consistent with customer requirements
  • Plan delivery routes to maximize the effective utilization of transportation resources
  • Coordinates driver’s schedules to ensure orders are fulfilled and equipment is utilized the most efficient way possible
  • Coordinate with Production and Management Team on the scheduling of product pick-up
  • Maintain all transportation planning and scheduling information in Transportation Management Systems
  • Identify and schedule potential revenue-producing backhaul opportunities
  • Coordinate with Maintenance management on the planning of equipment maintenance schedules
  • Report and monitor all service failures
  • Coordinate with Customer Service, Driver Management and Production Management on the identification and tracking of products throughout the distribution process
  • Review logistics performance with customers and management against Key Performance Indicators, targets, benchmarks, and service agreements
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with DOT driver/equipment regulations
  • Work with equipment providers to define long-term equipment requirements
  • Explain proposed solutions to customers, management or other interested parties through written proposals and oral presentations
  • Report project plans, progress, and results

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration with experience in Project Management, Logistics, or Transportation
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Logistics Planning and Operations Management
  • Experience in Transportation Management Systems
  • Excellent communicator who excels at collaborating with a team
  • Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Able to work in a high-pressure situation where change is inevitable and adaptability to make changes in a fast-paced environment
