We are currently seeking a Paint Lab Process Engineering Technician in Plymouth, MI.

Job Summary:

Provide middle-level to high-level paint process engineering services.

Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00am – 4:00pm

Pay: $20 – $28 / hour

Position: Full Time, direct-hire opportunity

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide process engineering support in office and at customers’ facilities
  • Assist in evaluation of data and writing reports to validate or indicate deviations from standards
  • Assist in verification and calibration of paint process and application equipment to ensure the accuracy and repeatability of the painting process
  • Participate in the development of robotic path motions and operating parameters for the introduction of new products and the continuous improvement of current programs to optimize transfer efficiency within the guidelines of customer quality standards
  • Participate in development, implementation, verification and documentation of parameter settings for paint process and application equipment
  • Assist in preparation and deliveries of technical presentations
  • Communicate and cooperate with paint suppliers on usage optimization, formulation compatibility, paint performance and quality issues.
  • Assist in process set-up, testing, verification and troubleshooting at customers’ facilities
  • Data collection and analysis, process verification, ordering of materials and supplies, and scheduling, paint process development
  • Assist in designing and implementation of processes using robots, bell equipment and reciprocators, fluid handling and delivery systems.
  • Participate in experiments conducted at the lab. This involves the utilization of a variety of data collection instruments as well as data preparation and analysis
  • Light shifting to Moderate travel, domestically and internationally

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Provide process engineering support in office and at customers’ facilities

  • Knowledge of OLP robotic paint simulation desirable
  • Experience in installation and commissioning of manufacturing equipment desirable
  • Knowledge of PLC desirable
  • May require some travel to outside locations (up to 35%)
